The Farm

We are a family-owned and operated agribusiness that has been tilling our land since the early 1700's after receiving our deed from Lord Fairfax. Our farm has has been passed down through the family for 11 generations and we are humbled to continue the farming legacy. We are one of the few farms in Frederick County, Virginia that is GAP certified. Our GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certification ensures our production and handling procedures are performed as recommended by the U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines.

Here at West Oaks Farm we have acres of fruit trees including apples, peaches, cherries, plums, & nectarines as well as fields of vegetables including sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, & a WHOLE lot more! All of this produce grows to peak ripeness before being harvested, packed, and delivered to you! Join our CSA program and have nutritious and delicious fruits and vegetables coming straight from our farm to your table! We also raise cattle, pigs, & sheep, all with the best care that we could possibly give them! Farming is not just a job to us, it is a way of life.

Our Farming Practices

For 11 generations we have been blessed to preserve the same ground located here in the northern Shenandoah Valley. Throughout the years, the farming operation has been handed down to each new generation with the promise to take care of the land, grow the operation, and continue to farm the best ways we know how. With evolving technology, our farm has developed each year new ways to effectively maintain our apple orchards, rotate grain crops, and provide greener pastures for our beef cattle. Today, our farm is proudly GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) Certified through the USDA, guaranteeing the safety and handling of our crops ensuring they are produced, packed, handled, and stored properly to minimize food safety risks. We follow strict all-natural spray programs to control pests and weeds, along with raising natural beef cattle within our cow-calf operation.
